TyLinda A. Haynie‐Sherrod is the eldest child of Pastor Johnnie R. and Lady Lucille Haynie and the wife of the late Rev. William J. Sherrod. A Whitney Young Graduate, TyLinda holds a B.S. in Human Resources Management and a M.S. in Higher Education Administration, both from DePaul University.
TyLinda has a passion for education and while she currently applies this passion in the secular world in higher education, it is with vivacity she uses it for the Glory of God and Kingdom Building. She has taught Sunday school since the age of 12; worked with vacation bible school, the choir, and various other ministries of the church.
Currently, she provides administrative and organizational support for two organizations that are a network of ministries operating with the express purpose to grow spiritually through Christian Education, share information and resources, and effectively develop productive relationships, and fellowship. She has worked with young women ages 5‐18 via non‐profit programming; seeking to aid their development into respectable young women of God who exude excellence and as a result of this work is called upon to speak to women at various events. In her personal time, she enjoys crafting specifically, card making, bible journaling, and baking.
Furthermore, she is proud to hold dual membership at Garden of Prayer MB Church, Broadview, IL and New Hope Baptist Church in Chicago Heights, IL. Regardless of her many accomplishments, if you asked TyLinda who she was or what her mission was, she would simply reply,
“Like Lazarus, I have the ministry of the survivor; and I am striving daily to live worthy as a representative of God and contagious Christian.”
