Your Plan or The Master Plan

There is great a movie called “My Sister's Keeper”, which by the way had me in tears!! The main character of this movie looks to earn medical emancipation from her parents who have relied on their youngest child to help their leukemia-stricken daughter remain alive.
There are so many teachable moments in this movie, however, the biggest lesson was in letting go and the importance of knowing when to do so. Sometimes we can become so tunnel versioned on what we want that we miss what matters.
If I could tell my 20 year old self anything based on what I know now; I would have said, "I know you have your plans, but God's plans are perfect and better. So, trust the process and just live."
"God's plan intends for you to still be prosperous and great, it just won't look the way you're thinking about right now....let go, let God, and live"
I know in the state of the world today, it can be difficult to see peace, joy, and happiness. However, I've always believed that in every tragedy there is a blessing if you are willing to see it. Romans 8:28 states that ALL things work together for the good of them who Love the Lord.
If you take some time to think about it; what you thought turned out so wrong actually was for your good. So, even in my most difficult times, I am mindful not to complain, but to hear God for the greater purpose behind it.
I implore you to choose to be fully present; even if that means ignoring social media and anything else that would cause you to miss a moment of joy and happiness.
This is what my almost 85 year old self shares with you today. :-)

Love and hugs,
